The purpose of the role
A companion care worker's role is to provide time, company, practical help and everyday support. That might be preparing a home-cooked meal, prompting someone to take their own medication, some light cleaning, doing the shopping, walking the dog, a trip to a café, organising the diary, a walk together, a game of cards, a favourite programme — or simply sitting down with a cup of tea and having a conversation.
